Diazha Berry is a multimedia artist from Southern Illinois. 

She completed her undergraduate studies at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale where she majored in Communications Studies with minors in Cinema and Linguistics.

 

Through this expansive background, she focused primarily on the science of storytelling and developed the understanding of narrative that she incorporates into so much of her work today. She graduated with honors from that program in 2023.

Early in her academic career, Berry also enlisted in a reserve component of the U.S. military. She participated in this throughout college as an aircraft mechanic. Through this opportunity, she has been working in general aviation across approximately 20 countries since 2021.

Berry continues her graduate studies at SIU Carbondale within the Mass Communications & Media Arts program. She continues to study story and visual literacy, as well as making new explorations into sound art, sculpture, and film production. She continues to use her narrative studies to inform her artwork and techniques.
